Rami Malek Says That Voices Of Bryan Singers Accusers Should Be Heard

According to RollingStone.com, Rami Malek dished on the allegations against Bryan Singer following the Oscar-nomination for the film on which they both worked, Bohemian Rhapsody. Considered to be his breakout film, Malek has taken some heat for choosing to work with Singer, despite the rape accusations against the director who was later fired from his job.

While at the Santa Barbara Film Festival where Rami was honored for portraying Freddie Mercury in the Queen biopic, The Hollywood Reporter asked Rami about the allegations.

Malek said to the audience that his heart “goes out to anyone” who endured the treatment that Singer supposedly inflicted on them. According to the Bohemian Rhapsody star, he didn’t want to take away from anybody who should be able to share their story regarding the controversial filmmaker.

According to Malek, his situation with Bryan was “not pleasant,” and that’s all he can really say about the situation. Moreover, Malek also reiterated the fact that Mr. Singer was booted off the set due to never appearing on the set, although, it’s rumored that he was fired actually due to the allegations.

Back in January of this year, Singer was yet again accused by four men of abuse who spoke with reporters from The Atlantic. The publication claimed Singer and his friends had young boys who would find other underaged boys for them to have sex with.

And in December 2017, Cesar Sanchez-Guzman accused him of rape. He was 17-years-old at the time of the supposed altercation. Despite the accusations, Singer is set to direct his next film, Red Sonja.

Putting all that aside, some have criticized Rami Malek and the other crew members for even working with Singer, to begin with, considering the allegations against him have been out in the open ever since the #MeToo movement began.

Some on social media have described the Bohemian Rhapsody situation as being just another hypocritical Hollywood dilemma, where actors and actresses condemn each other for bad behavior, but also benefit from it at the very same time.
