He had first started speedrunning Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island in 2004 after he was introduced to the concept by a Speed Demos Archive (a website dedicated to video game speedruns) DVD that he had received with an issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly, an American video game magazine.He had first come into the spotlight a decade later, in 2014, when he had performed a 100% run of Yoshi’s Island at the Awesome Games Done Quick speedrunning charity event. After about 72 minutes, the audience of 90,000 Twitch viewers were forced to watch the building be evacuated when his run was interrupted by a fire alarm.In 2015, he was one among 8 people who had been invited to compete in a tournament of different games at the June 2015 Nintendo World Championships.
